The name Aventis will be synonymous with innovation in the life sciences, with advance products for health and nutrition. Aventis evokes the idea of movement, innovation, science, and future and on going progress. It can easily be pronounced around the world, and easy to remember. The first element represents preclSlon and conveys the technical and disciplined aspects of science. Light blue demonstrates uniqueness and creativity. The symbol's center element, a line of dots in motion, represents molecular structures and medicines. Blue represents strengths and stability. The third element-a
brushstroke- represents human creativity, the origin of scientific discovery. Its form is
organic, suggesting growth and dynamism. Green conveys the new growth and
vitality that discovery brings. The ring unifies and completes the symbol. Together, these elements represent the integration of life and science.

<title>Prospects and Problems of Jute Yarn &amp; Twine in International Market</title>
<link>http://dspace.ewubd.edu:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/1579</link>
<description>Prospects and Problems of Jute Yarn &amp; Twine in International Market
Rahman, Md. Mizanur
Bangladesh is the largest producer of jute and has the finest quality of jute in the world. Bangladesh is the major supplier of yarn sector whereas India seems to be the possible source of alternative fabric because of investment made by some countries in modern equipment. Two main supplying countries -Bangladesh and Tndia continue to dominate the world market. Because they have lowest costs of producing jute yarn &amp; twine. The world demand for jute yarns show a redul:tion over the past 4 years. I believe this can be traced the situations of increased raw materiais pdces will have forced the closure of tradition weaving factories in a number of countries either to be replaced with
sacking hessian from thc producing countries or switched to synthetics. F rom industry we need to maintain stable priees and regular supplies if we are to maintain our markets. Quality should not be an issue and must be built into all of our products at all stages of our manufacture. Our management and workfC)rce are critical to the success of our business. Their education and training on an ongoing basis is essential. ISO 9000 is a must and total quality management must become the norm. Prom government we need continued support to achieve change. Jute is a natural assct which must not be wasted. Support policies should be reviewed and targeted to those companies and sectors to promote change and achieve grovvth, not to prop us sick businesses v\lith no business of recovery. Open minded purchasing policies and a willingness to review product specifications should be undertaken to help the industry achieve the change.

<title>A Project on Production Management System of Bangladesh Electrical Industries Limited (BEIL)</title>
<link>http://dspace.ewubd.edu:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/1577</link>
<description>A Project on Production Management System of Bangladesh Electrical Industries Limited (BEIL)
Afsari, Sultana
This study has two approaches. One is to look at the industry in general and Transcom
Electronics Limited (TEL), in particular. The other broad objective of the report is to
analyze the Production Management System (PMS) of Bangladesh Electrical Industries
Limited (BEIL) under Transcom Electronics Ltd. with related studies and to suggest
some appropriate control procedures and recommendations from that perspective. The
PMS database, developed in MS-Access is at the verge of completion in the Information
System and Automation (ISA) department of Trancom Electronics Limited (TEL). Transcom Electronics Limited (TEL) is a private limited company incorporated in 1992
in Bangladesh under the Companies Act of 1913. TEL is the official licensee of PHILIPS
Electronics N. V. for lighting products, radio and TV sets. The company purchases and
sells various consumer products especially relating to audio/video products, bulbs, tube
lights, professional lights, domestic appliances, refrigerators etc. The company is
managed professionally with high caliber professionals and industry experts. In recent
years TRANSCOM has emerged as an increasingly significant media house in
Bangladesh. The first part of the report informs about the organization's history, functions, products, markets, management, activities and company profiles. The second part of the report gives a broad analysis and the importance of Production Management System (PMS) database of BEIL under Transcom Electronics Limited and how effectively it qm be applied in the automation process related to the production management system. This section analyzed the previous system PICCOLO (Philips
Industrial and Commercial Control for On-Line Operations) of the Transcom Electronics
Limited and the current system PMS and described the conceptual differences of the two
systems. The whole study has brought many perspectives of the system analysis and
design and situations where design methodology shows the ultimate means to handle the complexity of the system.
