<description>Financial Performance Evaluation of Bangladesh Biman Corporation
Latif, Mohammad Abdul
Bangladesh Biman Corporation is the national flag carrier of Bangladesh owned by the Govt and operating both domestic and international services with reputation. At present Biman is serving twenty-six: cities of the world across three continents. Biman has a fleet of five wide-bodied DC-lO 30, three A310-300, three F28 regionaLjets and two BAe ATPs ai.rcratL The corporate body is Bangladesh Biman Corporation though the airline is called Biman Bangladesh Airlines. It was established by the Presidential Order No. 126 of 1912 and made a corporation by the Ordinance No. xrx of 1911. Came into being on JanuaI}' 04, 1912 initially with a 2nd world war vintage Dakota.. OC - 3, gift from the Air force. In the rest of report I made an attempt to evaluate Bangladesh Biman Corporation perfonnance exclusively using ratio analysis. Having analyzed the key ratios Bangladesh Biman COtpOration based on ditfurent year. The financial perfonnance of Bangladesh Biman Corporation is not because of their inefficient operation and also for proper decision-making. Most of the year they incurred losses rather than generate profit. Based on my analysis [ think that if they want to get rid of from this current
situation they have no alternatives they have to go for privatization and this is my
recommended solution.
