Graduate it is necessary to qualify- &amp; attending the program entitled "internship program", I have prepared this report titled "Internship Report", project of Consumer &amp; Market Insight Department at Lever Brothers Bangladesh Limited (LBBL). According to the project 'Compilation of available secondary sources of information on Economic &amp; Demographic indicators of Bangladesh' I have to collect data from various sources, which will be helpful for the business perspective of Lever Brothers Bangladesh Limited (LBBL). Lever Brothers Bangladesh Limited is a part of a multi-local multinational company that deals with a large number of brands. To trigger interest among its regular consumers, company needs to focus on consumer and market research. CM! department deals with consumer and market research. To know their consumer &amp; market in a more apparent &amp; effective way, they need secondary information available on economic &amp; demographic indicator of Bangladesh. GDP, PCI, PCC, PPP, Literacy Rate, Poverty, Occupation, media Habit, Electrification, Living Standard, all these indicators has been analyzed considering Population, Household characteristics. In the fiercely competitive world today, it is very important for a company to have the knowledge of its market. All of the :fmdings from my work will help us gain a better understanding of the people and development of the country. Hopefully it will also contribute to Lever Brothers by helping it devise better and more effective tools for its brands.

In our four years BBA program in EAST WEST UNIVERSITY, BANGLADESH it is mandatory for students of Business Administration to do either BUS - 498, "Project Work" or BUS - 499, "Internship" to complete BBA. I chose internship program to complete my BBA program. Internship means doing work with any organization for a particular period of time to gather some practical knowledge about business world. I did my Internship under the supervision of DR. TANBIRAHMED CHOWDHURY. At the beginning ofFa112004 semester I get internship in Dhaka Bank Limited. After working there I acquired practical knowledge about business world and the work performed in a bank. Internship program help a business student in many ways, it gives some working experience, some knowledge about that organizations working policy, improve communication skills because in organization he/she have to communicate with lots of people, improve punctuality etc. Bank is a financial intermediary accepting deposits and granting loans. Banks offer a widest menu of services of any financial institution. Banks are among the most important financial institutions in the economy. They are the principal source of credit and they take deposit from people. The leading private sector banks in Bangladesh offering full range of Personal, Corporate, International Trade, Foreign Exchange, Lease Finance and Capital Market services. Dhaka Bank Limited is the preferred choice in banking for friendly and personalized services, cutting edge technology, tailored solutions for, business needs, global reach in trade and commerce and high yield on investments, sharing Excellence in Banking Services. The Bank started its commercial operation on. July 05, 1995 with an authorized capital ofTk. 1,000 million and paid up capital of Tk.100 million. The paid up capital of the Bank stood at Tk. 531. 07 million as on 31 December 2003 . The total equity (capital and reserves) of the Bank as on 31 December 2003 stood at Taka 1209.97 million including the sponsor's capital of Tk. 338.58 million. The Bank has 22 branches across the country and a wide network of correspondents all over the world. In their effort to provide Excellence in Banking services, the Bank has lunched fully automated Phone Banking service, joined a countrywide-shared ATM network and has introduced a co-branded credit card.

In today bold up righting world Banking sector are somewhat immaculately structured in its rendition lucrative sector for a country's prospective sights. This banking sector are giving a towering effort to notch the mutual benefit off by inferring both developing and countries within this edifying world. This report on "An Appraisal of Corporate Banking and Activities of Standard Chartered Bank of Bangladesh" This report is a follow-up of the three month internship had done at the Shaistakhan road SCB Narayanganj Branch. Because of the limitations imposed by the lack of available information, efforts had been made to complete this report based mainly of Secondary information. This report emphasizes on the background of SCB, organization structure, their management practice, the product and services of the bank. Different types of deposit, the market share, income, investment, recovery and the various trend analyses discussed in the performance and growth
chapter. In the part of the problem, various problems relating to corporate banking have discussed with specific points, which was faced by the customer and the management as well. In the prospect and suggestion part I refer many proposal and shows many
prospect of the bank that ensure higher customer satisfaction and banking performance.
